Information on FC Barcelona
FC Barcelona was founded in 1899 by the legend Joan Gamper. Every year FC Barcelona celebrates Joan Gamper by hosting the Joan Gamper Turnament, as a pre tournament to the start of La Liga. We do, of course, have tickets to this tournament. FC Barcelona’s stadium is the world famous Camp Nou, built in 1957 to replace the old stadium, which was simply too small for the growing number of fans. At one time there was room for more than 100,000 spectators, but that number was reduced to “only” 96,000 due to FIFA regulations. FC Barcelona has won many titles over the years, including the Champions League 2 times, the Spanish Championship 19 times and the Spanish Cup no less than 24 times. FC Barcelona would rather lose a match than play boring and uninspiring soccer, and this is the reason some of the world’s best players have played AND are currently playing for FC Barcelona. We would go so far as to say that if you only see one soccer match in your life, then see it at Camp Nou. Watching FC Barcelona playing at Camp Nou is a phenomenal experience, it's as simple as that!
Information on RCD Espanyol
RCD Espanyol is regarded by many as the “small” club in Barcelona, and it is true that RCD Espanyol is not as famous as FC Barcelona. But it is still great fun and great soccer to watch a match with Espanyol in Barcelona. RCD Espanyol was founded in 1900 by Angel Rodriguez. The Club has won 4 titles and been in The UEFA Cup final twice, last time in 2007. I 2009, RCD Espanyol moved from their old stadium (the Olympic Stadium) to their brand new stadium, called Cornellà.
